ND YAG Laser (CoolGlide)
Designed to be used on all skin types, the CoolGlide® laser gets rid of unwanted hair on all parts of the body, including the face, legs, arms, underarms and back, and even sensitive parts of the body such as the chest, nipples and bikini area. The pigment at the base of the hair follicle absorbs the light emitted by the laser at a depth of 800 nm, reaching the hair while preserving the blood vessels and tissues. By overheating the hair follicle, it is eliminated or reduced in a fraction of a second, resulting in slow hair growth and, in the majority of cases, a permanent elimination of the follicle. And as per its name, the CoolGlide® laser cools the skin, which provides a soothing sensation during the treatment.
The number of treatments will be determined depending on the thickness of hair, the area to be treated and hair growth. Following the treatment, some of the hairs on the same area will grow back and then will fall off, while others will remain visible. This is quite normal since only the hair in their growth phase can be eliminated in a sustainable way—the other two phases are regression and rest. This is the reason why several sessions are required to remove all hair in the same area. To achieve optimal and sustainable results, 5 to 6 sessions are usually required.
Process of the treatment
- Meeting with our specialist for a consultation (collection of data) and the implementation of the treatment plan according to the areas and conditions to be treated (number of treatments, duration, treatment risks, etc.)
- First treatment session
- Follow-up on the intervention
- Subsequent treatment sessions, if applicable
How long does each treatment last?
This depends on the treatment. For example, underarm treatment usually takes 15 minutes, while the back can take about an hour and a half.
Is the treatment painful?
This procedure is usually painless. However, since each patient tolerates pain differently, the pain level may vary. For this reason, some people choose to apply an anaesthetic cream.
What should be the interval between laser hair removal sessions?
We recommend an interval of 6 to 8 weeks between each treatment.
What precautions should be taken before and after the treatment?
We recommend not applying any self-tanning products or exposing skin to the sun a month before and two weeks after the treatment. Following the treatment, avoid overworking your skin. Clean it gently. Between sessions, do not tweeze or wax the area treated; but rather shave. We highly recommended applying sunscreen.
