Restylane

Restylane

As we get older, our skin loses its collagen, hyaluronic acid and elastin. The density and volume of the skin, bone structure and muscles are reduced. Restylane® dermal filler fills wrinkles, restores volume loss and improves the overall structure of the skin of the face. Restylane® hyaluronic acid technology is composed of high-quality materials and patented NASHA™. With over 30 million treatments provided worldwide to date, this product is proven to be very safe.

Restylane® can help improve your facial features, whether you want to eliminate wrinkles and lines around your mouth or your nose (vertical lines), to add volume to the lips, to soften the wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes (dark circles), to restore volume to the cheeks, or to shape the outline of the face to remove visible signs of age. The treatment is associated to the hyaluronic acid content in your own body. It is specifically designed to be effective within the different layers of the skin to restore skin volume and improve its quality. Restylane® is a temporary treatment and its effects last approximately 9 to 12 months, which allows you to maintain your facial appearance.

What do we treat?

Process of the treatment

  1. Assessment of the patient and his/her health status
Your expectations will determine the amount of product necessary for the treatment. The cost, frequency, effect, products to use in your daily routine and follow-up are some of the things your doctor will discuss with you. At this first meeting, the Dr. will also want to know details regarding your health status. You may be able to receive the first treatment on the same day of your first consultation, if not, you and your doctor will decide the appropriate time to start the treatment.
  2. Photographs
In addition to being used as a way to compare the before/after effects of your treatment, the photos will serve as a tool to identify the areas affected by the loss of dermal volume.
  3. Procedure plan
Your age, the quality of your skin and your genetics will be factors taken into consideration by your doctor to give you the most natural rejuvenating effect possible. In order to balance the volumes of the face, your doctor may suggest the combination of injectable dermal fillers and neuromodulators (for example, Botox CosmeticMD or Dysport®), strategically and in a specific proportion.
  4. Restylane® injections
In the skin or subcutaneous area, the doctor uses fine needles to inject the predetermined amount of the product. You can resume your activities after your treatment, which usually lasts between 15 and 60 minutes. Your doctor will ask you not to wear any makeup following your treatment. In addition, for two weeks, you will have to avoid exposure to sunlight, cold, saunas, spas and steam baths.
